MangoCo Opens Service for Brands to Protect Themselves Online with Advanced Search Engine Optimization Tools
Ashburn, VA (Vocus/PRWEB) December 15, 2010
MangoCo, a Virginia search engine optimization company announces a new online brand reputation management service. As a number of companies and organizations have fallen victim to the faceless, anonymous crowds on the internet. Whether deserved or not, complaints lodged against these companies have been found by Google, and because of the search giant’s algorithm, are being served up to new people searching for information on that brand. Amway, Aflac, Prepaid Legal, FreeCreditReport.com, The Ladders, Direct Buy, Kevin Trudeau, and others are among the brands struggling with this new problem.
These brands can now fight Google’s suggestions with a new online service announced by MangoCo as ‘Reputation Management’. MangoCo, a Virginia search engine optimization firm. The ‘Google Suggest’ feature works as a term is typed into Google’s search box, Google tries to predict the term that is most likely being searched. These predictions appear as a drop-down box from where you are typing. Many companies are finding unfortunately that while the first suggestion may be their company name, the second suggestion includes the word ‘scam’ at the end.
To combat this, a growing number of companies are retaining MangoCo to provide Online Brand Reputation services to clean up their name. MangoCo specializes in moving negative results out of the search results, resulting in positive Google suggestions. “The companies we work with offer fair, legitimate products. Unfortunately, a single bad experience with a customer, or a former employee holding a grudge, can ruin a reputation very quickly.” MangoCo recently completed a project where they successfully created ten new pieces of content and completely took over Page 1 of the search results for the brand name plus the word ‘scam’.
Google chooses what to suggest to searchers based on a number of factors MangoCo announces. If a large number of people search a specific term, then Google is likely to include that in the suggestions. The second factor is based on the content that Google indexes when scouring the internet. If they see a large occurrence of a brand name with the word ‘scam’ somewhere near it, they can make an assumption that the words belong together, and thus suggest it to new searchers.
Other companies affected by this problem, such as Classmates.com, Matthew Lesko, Herbalife should take note. It only takes one unhappy customer or ex-employee to destroy your brand online. Once it happens, a Virginia SEO company like http://www.MangoCo.com should be brought in to quickly repair the damage.
